Why Does Dr. Dave Love Being a Dentist?
Dr. David Gore, DDS
Dr. David Gore earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Arkansas and graduated in the top of his class from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 2015. Dr. Gore is a Veteran of the US Army and continues to serve as a Reservist. He has worked in family practice, community, and cosmetic practices in southern Oregon, and is now happy to call Washington home.
Dr. Dave was partially drawn to a rural setting because of his childhood, growing up in a similar small town outside of a larger city in Oklahoma, but also because of the unique needs of a small community. Small communities need a clinician who is able to provide excellent quality specialty care to help serve those who are unable to drive far into the city to find it, and Dr. Dave loves to learn and master a broad range of procedures, helping Mountain Loop Dental and its patients achieve and maintain a high level of health without needing to go to several different offices. Dr. Dave also takes a special interest in those who are fearful of treatment, as he grew up with a severe needle phobia that has improved with time.
Dr. Dave’s parents are from blue collar communities in rural Arkansas. He was brought up with his five sisters in the country of eastern Oklahoma. In sports, he played high school football, basketball, and soccer. He was all-conference at Running Back (in his tiny conference) his senior year. He played percussion in high school orchestra, guitar with his friends, and violin as a youth. He went to college in Arkansas where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. He then took a year off of school to play in a country-rock band with his friends before attending dental school back in Oklahoma.
Dr. Dave is an adventure seeker in his spare time, spreading out his activities mainly between snowboarding, scuba diving, white water rafting, and mountaineering. If you have any good adventure ideas, be careful telling him about it because he may try to join you! His love of the outdoors was cultivated while earning his Eagle Scout rank as a teenager, and he has continued to develop that passion throughout life. He moved to the Pacific Northwest right out of school to be near the mountain recreation that he enjoys so deeply. Dr. Dave is also a huge sports fan, keeping his Sunday afternoon reserved to cheer for the Seahawks, and spending his evenings after work getting caught up on the day’s sports happenings.
